New Year's Eve

Yesterday we drove from Salem/Roanoke, VA down the I 40 southwest to Knoxville, TN and then more westerly to Nashville. When we go back in March or so, I want to do Nashville in daylight... slept over at a WalMart on the west side, so we left this morning with the city already behind us. Had breakfast at a Cracker Barrel. They have those at almost every exit here...
Sidebar: we're passing a town called Bucksnort. Not kidding. They have a motel, the Bucksnort Inn...
The kids' only time for playing out from under the grown-ups' constant reminders of RV behavior was at a McDonalds Play Space, so today we're seriously looking for a play area. We will also be crossing the Mississippi in Memphis, so Deirdre is checking out on her iPhone if that can be combined.

The first 1000 miles behind us, a night with temps above freezing, and no RV disasters! Things are good. We won't have a lot of nights without frost, but we gladly take them as they come. We should make it into Arkansas today, which will be, let me count, including New Hampshire, eh, NH, MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, PA, MD, WV, VA, TN, and whatever the abbr for Arkansas is, our 12th state. wow!

We wish you all an enjoyable New Year's Eve and a happy and prosperous 2011!
